England winger Jadon Sancho breaks 52-year-old Bundesliga record after scoring for Dortmund against Cologne aged just 19
JADON SANCHO broke a 52-year-old Bundesliga record as he inspired Borussia Dortmund to victory over Cologne.
England prodigy Sancho has been tearing up German football since decided to quit Manchester City and try his luck on the continent.
And his goal in the 3-1 away win was the 15th league strike of his fledgling career, beating a record which has stood since 1967.
Aged just 19 years 151 days, Sancho has become the youngest player ever to hit 15 Bundesliga goals.
In doing so, he beat the previous record held by former West Germany international Horst Koppel - set in 1967 - by 34 days.
Sancho's 70th minute strike was crucial in helping Dortmund level the scores as they came from behind to win their second game of the season.
And the winger was not done there, going on to set up his side's third to make sure of the three points.
DRAMATIC IMPACT
Sancho has established himself as one of the biggest young talents in world football in the two years since leaving the Etihad for Germany.
Since making his debut, Sancho has been directly involved in 39 goals in 58 appearances for Dortmind in all competitions.
He has struck 17 goals and also been credited with 17 assists in that time.
He has made such a dramatic impact he was accelerated into the England team by boss Gareth Southgate and has already established himself as a key member of the squad.

Those displays for club and country have seen other clubs take note - with Manchester United failing in their efforts to sell a deal worth over £100m for his services last summer.
United still have their eyes set on the youngster, and are believed to have made him their top target in January.
But Dortmund have attempted to ward off the advances from Old Trafford and other sides by handing him a new £190,000-a-week deal to recognise his growing status in the game.
