Gabriel Jesus suffers hamstring injury as Sergio Aguero starts for Man City at Bournemouth

MANCHESTER CITY striker Gabriel Jesus has suffered a hamstring injury and will miss today's game at Bournemouth, the club confirmed.

The Brazil striker, who came off the bench in last weekend's 2-2 draw with Tottenham, was withdrawn from the squad after suffering a hamstring problem in training.

The Brazilian is set to return after the international break in September, with striker Sergio Aguero starting for the champion at Dean Court.

Pep Guardiola makes one change from the side that were held by Tottenham at the Etihad last weekend.

Summer signing Rodri makes way for skipper David Silva - who makes his 400th appearance for City this afternoon.

It comes after City boss Guardiola revealed he feared the Spanish playmaker would "suffer" with the physicality of the Prem when he signed from Valencia in 2010.

He said: "For the fans, for me, it's a privilege what he has done for this club - players like him have helped this club establish themselves in the Premier League and in Europe.

"But I didn't think he would be as big a success, because he is a technical player.

"He's not box-to-box and my image of English football before I came here was that maybe he was going to suffer, but I'm happy that my first impression has been proved wrong."

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe also opted for one change, with defender Chris Mepham recalled and on-loan Liverpool winger Harry Wilson, who scored in last weekend's win at Aston Villa, among the substitutes.
