A takeover by Football Ventures collapsed at the weekend for the football club and its hotel.

But SunSport can reveal an un-named Manchester-based property tycoon is finalising a ‘deadly serious’ £7.5million deal for the hotel and has been in contact with the EFL.

This offer would pay the secured creditors in full and also take former owner Ken Anderson out of the equation.

The group, who showed funds of £33m to the hotel administrators, also want to buy the club when the first step is complete.

Football Ventures wanted the hotel as part of their plans but have now been told the other party are in talks.

The EFL want a decision by 5pm today.

Paul Appleton, joint administrator for Bolton, said: “Unless there is a change of position from any of the parties involved, the process of closing down the club and ultimately placing Bolton Wanderers into liquidation will begin this week.”
