FANS have slammed Jeremy Corbyn for using Bury's EFL expulsion to campaign for votes for Labour.
The Shakers were thrown out of League One late last night after failing to prove they had the finances to complete the season.
And Bolton have now been given a 14-day deadline to complete a takeover of the club or they will follow Bury in being sent into oblivion.
Within minutes of the EFL announcing the club's fate, Labour leader Corbyn took to Twitter in an attempt to score political capital from the tragic situation.
He wrote: "It's desperately sad that Bury has been expelled from the football league, sad for the fans and the town.
"It's more than just a football club, it's an institution in the community.
"Labour will make sure supporters have a say in how their clubs are run."
As an aside, he then added: "Let's hope the two week extension for Bolton means that historic club can be saved."

But his attempts to gain support among the football community went down badly among fans across the country who believe he was trying to use Bury's situation as a political weapon.
Anthony Johnson, assistant manager at Chester and lifelong Bury fan, wrote: "Not now, Jeremy, eh"
User @Sapper1912 said: "How will you do that , how can you make promises like that with other people’s money. It’s obvious that the owners are struggling to keep the club afloat.
"JC sees a cause and jumps on it, presumably looking for votes."
Bury fan Jamie Hoyle added: "Be honest, Jezza: did you even know we existed at 11PM?
"Do something useful. Call for an independent regulator. Get everyone involved in front of a committee and make them answer for what they’ve done to us. Don’t use this to push your politics."
