Having been stripped of the captain's armband and told to find a new team, the striker is preparing to escalate the trouble brewing at the Giuseppe Meazza.

Icardi is chasing a whopping £1.4million in damages for his exiling.

Since Antonio Conte's arrival, the Argentine has been allowed into general workouts but excluded from taking part in pre-game tactical sessions and mini-match drills.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the player is determined to stay at Inter and wants to be fully reintegrated with his teammates.

That has been of no interest to club bosses this summer with Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku brought in to reinvigorate their frontline, the latter taking Icardi's No9 shirt.

They have urged the forward, 26, to move on with Juventus, Atletico Madrid and Monaco touted for a move.

In light of these recent developments, it is said Ligue 1 side Monaco are dropping their interest for Icardi with little time left before Monday's European transfer deadline.

The Milan club are reportedly surprised by their former hero's decision to sue them as they had apparently acted very carefully to avoid him having cause to do so.

Sports lawyer Mattia Grassani recently stated that Inter would have no case to answer.

He told Corriere dello Sport: “It doesn’t seem correct to me to suggest any athlete has a right to take part in preparatory matches or tactical exercises, no matter what. It would clash with the notion of the coach having complete autonomy when he takes charge of training sessions.”
