And Bernabeu skipper Sergio Ramos said of Pogba earlier today: ";Real Madrid always has the door open for good players such as him."

French World Cup winner Pogba was also targeted by old club Juventus over the summer after it became clear the 26-year-old was more than ready to leave United.

Hi agent Mini Raiola said then: "Everyone knows the willingness of Paul to move on. We are in the process of that."

Now Pogba's brother Mathias, 29, who has five caps for Guinea, appears to have confirmed his younger sibling's strong interest in Spain.

The Manchesgo striker told : "I know he's spoken with a few players, but not [Sergio] Ramos.

"Who? Oh, Messi. Sometimes, not always. Zlatan [Ibrahimovic]. [Antoine] Griezmann, because of the national team."

And asked about contact with the Bernabeu, Mathias said: "I don't know about anyone from Real Madrid. Oh, [Raphael] Varane, yes, and yes, with [Zinedine] Zidane, yes."

But Pogba senior insisted insisted transfer speculation would not affect his brother's Old Trafford form this campaign.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer won his fight to retain a player he believes can be the pivot for his developing team.

And Mathias said last week: "Paul knows that he cannot leave Manchester United so he’s going to focus on this season."
