CAGLAR SOYUNCU produced another composed performance for Leicester and earned the exuberant praise of Gary Lineker and Jamie Carragher.
The Foxes beat Tottenham 2-1 on Saturday with the Turk again at the heart of their defence, as he has been for every minute of their strong start to the season.
It is an especially timely run of form given Harry Maguire's exit for Manchester United in the summer, Brendan Rodgers choosing to not sign a replacement and promoting Soyuncu.
Gary Lineker agreed with the decision, writing on Twitter: "Seems clear now why Leicester didn’t bother reinvesting the Maguire fee on another central defender: they knew how good Söyüncü is.
"Deserves the dots above his name."
Leicester have only let in five goals in the first six games of the 2019/20 Prem campaign, earning their new star centre-back praise from Liverpool favourite Carragher.
The former defender tweeted: "Love watching Soyuncu for Leicester!"
Going third with their win over Spurs, the Foxes were praised for how they handled the Maguire sale.
A fee of £85million was pocketed and 23-year-old Soyuncu handed a starting berth having spent a year adapting to the English game.
He arrived from German side Freiburg for £19m in 2018 and fans were eager to point out how Leicester are now above Maguire's United.
