It's beginning to become a bit of a problem.
Fantasy football managers have lost some serious points this term due to lots of goals being conceded, with the overall performances of defenders meaning just two are in Dream Team's top 25 best points scorers; Ricardo Pereira and Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Of course, defenders have never naturally been a great source of points, although in recent seasons we've always recommended trying to pick up the best on offer — Virgil Van Dijk or Aymeric Laporte, for example, were the cream of the crop last year.
Then there's the usual attacking full-backs that can pop up with the odd goal or assist here and there, like Lucas Digne and Andy Robertson.
But so far, none of the usual rules have really applied.
Van Dijk, who's officially the second-best player in the world right now, has picked up just 61 points on Dream Team this season — making him just the sixth-best defender on our game.
Even old favourites like Kyle Walker (45 points), Cesar Azpilicueta (39 points) and Marcos Alonso (34 points) have failed to deliver the usual goods.
It's frustrating, to say the least.
The best we can say is keep sticking with the three at the back formation.
As you already know you can pick from three different formations on Dream Team; 4-4-2, 4-3-3, and 3-4-3.
We reckon the 3-4-3 is the best way to go, as it minimises the amount of defenders you need to pick.
Hopefully, those pesky defenders will start scoring points again soon.
