The first four days threw up some massive shock results with the South American powerhouses Brazil and Argentina dropping points, while France scraped past Australia and reigning world champions Germany lost their opener to Mexico.

But with big upsets come big breakthroughs.

Several previously unheard players made names for themselves on the international stage and more importantly picked up loads of unexpected fantasy points.

Here are the five breakthrough stars you need to get into you team right now.

Hannes Halldorsson, Iceland

Any man who can keep Lionel Messi off the scoresheet for 90 minutes deserves a mention.

But especially when that goalkeeper is from the smallest nation to ever qualify for the tournament, is a part-time music video director AND saved a Messi penalty.

Not only did he repel the spot-kick but Halldorsson put in a David De Gea-like display of agility and reflexes to give Iceland their first World Cup point.

He only costs £1m on the game and scored a massive 11 points against Argentina, expect more of the same when they face Nigeria.

Aleksandr Golovin, Russia

I know Thursday feels like a lifetime ago but you will remember Aleksandr Golovin's barnstorming performance in Russia's 5-0 drubbing of Saudi Arabia.

Golovin ran the game and capped of a brilliant display with a pinpoint free-kick in the final minutes.

How many points do you want from a £2m player?

Well Golovin scored once, got two assists, recorded a rating of 9.91 and racked up a bounty of 16 points.

Might be a little bit tougher against Egypt next time out.

Hirving 'Chucky' Lozano

He's got one of the best nicknames in football and he scored the winner against the reigning world champions.

Mexico downed Germany yesterday and it was all down to Lozano's ability to rip the Germans apart down the left wing.

We lost count of the amount of times he was bursting into the opposition half at speed.

Lozano is just 22 years old, he only costs £2m and scored a solid eight points.

Prepare to see Sweden and South Korea defenders bamboozled when they face Lozano.

Guilllermo Varela, Uruguay

Defending must be easy when you're lining up next to Jose Gimenez and Diego Godin.

But Uruguay right-back Guillerom Varela was a rock in defence and provided an outlet for the South Americans down the wing.

That is Uruguay's biggest challenge of the group out of the way and you would back them to get two more clean sheets against Russia and Saudi Arabia.

Varela only costs £1.5m and he's already got eight points, you can see those clean sheet bonuses racking up too.

Alfred Finnbogason

He scores when he wants.

Even a backline of Marcos Rojo and Nicolas Otamendi couldn't stop the Augsburg man getting on the scoresheet.

Finnbogason scored 12 goals in 22 in the Bundesliga this season and brought that goalscoring instinct to Russia.

He's cheap as chips for a striker at £2m and will be licking his lips at the prospect of facing Nigeria.
