Fantasy football tips: Best bargain strikers after first four Premier League games

Fantasy football is all about uncovering those point-scoring value players, don't forget it

The first bank of Premier League games is over and the international break offers a time to reflect on your fantasy team.

Sadio Mane has outshone Mo Salah, Marcos Alonso is holding his own with the second most points in the game and although Harry Kane broke his August hoodoo, the England captain is yet to get firing.

But forget the big boys, here are the best value strikers in the Premier League so far.

The best bargain strikers in the Premier League

Glenn Murray - £2.5m

5

The 35-year-old striker is enjoying the Indian summer of his career.

Murray has bagged three goals already in the Premier League including one against Man United and two against Fulham this weekend.

He only costs £2.5m on Dream Team but he's punching well above his value weight with 24 points already - putting him above Mo Salah, Harry Kane and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

We're not sure whether this form can carry on but with only 0.4% of managers selecting the frontman there is serious differential potential.

Aleksandr Mitrovic - £2.8m

5

On his day Mitrovic is one of the most effective target men in world football.

He's physical, he's angry, he's here to bully your your backline and he's the joint-top scorer in the Premier League. And Newcastle let him go for some reason.

After drawing a blank against Palace the Serbian has bagged four times in his last three games and is in red hot form.

13 points against Burnely was a brilliant haul and you can get a jump on the 97.2% of managers that haven't selected him for just £2.8m.

Let's not talk about the penalty he stupidly gave away against Brighton.

Callum Wilson - £2.8m

5

Admit it, after those two horrendous injuries you all thought Wilson would be finished.

Well he's back with a bang and firing Bournemouth to another of safety.

He registered the perfect fantasy hat-trick of a goal, an assist and the star man award in the opening game against Cardiff and followed with a brilliant solo goal against West Ham.

Wilson's already scored 25 points and is the fifth most productive striker this season, level with Mitrovic.

3.8% of managers have selected the 26-year-old and with the Cherries' favourable run of fixtures you should too.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin - £2.8m

5

This player is the biggest surprise on the list and the least selected.

Just 0.1% of managers have the Everton youngster in their team but he is the third highest scoring striker on the game - only behind Troy Deeney and Sergio Aguero.

Yes he scored against Huddersfield on the weekend but it's hard to remember how else he's tallied up 26 points.

The majority of them have come from a Carabao Cup match against Rotherham when he scored twice and bagged 18 points.

It is these types of selections that win you mini-leagues.

Troy Deeney - £2.8m

5

Aguero might have scored a hat-trick against Huddersfield but Deeney is amazingly only five points behind him and costs £4m less.

Watford have a 100% record and Deeney could be the surprise package of the season.

He'#s averaging 7.8 points a game and has brought in double figures on two separate occasions this season already.

A genuine bargain at £2.8m and severely overlooked with only 0.9% of managers taking the plunge.

Watford have some difficult fixtures coming up but Deeney loves a challenge.
