Premier League fantasy football: Which Chelsea players are worth putting in your team?

Since Eden Hazard's departure, Chelsea have become the only top Premier League side without a designated 'superstar.'

On this season's Dream Team, there are no players from the London club valued above £3.5m.

Compare that to Man City, who have 11 priced at or above £4m.

And it begs the question, are there any players from Chelsea, who finished third last season, worth having in your Dream Team?

Frank Lampard will be tossing and turning trying to get his defence in shape with Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen, Kurt Zouma, David Luiz, Marcos Alonso and Emerson all fighting for their spots.

One guarantee is that Cesar Azpilicueta will be an ever-present at the back.

While not being a 'superstar,' the club captain managed one goal and nine assists last year making him the fifth highest scoring defender.

The Chelsea man is available for a thrifty £3.5m, the four above him last season are all valued between £4.5m-£6m.

So for a consistent performer at the back who wont cost an arm and a leg, it's well worth taking a look at 'Dave.'

Chelsea's most selected player this season is Christian Pulisic with 12.7% of Dream Team gaffers taking a punt on the American.

He is a young man coming to a new league with the weight of Hazard's departure on his shoulders.

The £3m price tag is tempting, especially as he looks set to be the spark of the team.

My midfield recommendation if you are counting the pennies would be Jorginho.

A strange decision you might think as he could only muster two goals and zero assists last season.

The Italian will be on penalty duty for The Blues and it is worth remembering that, with the introduction of VAR, there should be more spot-kicks for all Premier League clubs.

The 27-year-old has already spoken out about playing in a two man midfield under Lampard and the change in style.
We should be seeing the Brazilian-born technician in more advanced areas next season and that £2.5m valuation could be a bargain.

Chelsea have had issues up top ever since Diego Costa's dramatic exit back in 2017.

Alvaro Morata and Gonzalo Higuain have both gone leaving Chelsea with limited options for the upcoming season.

You would imagine Olivier Giroud will lead the line with Tammy Abraham and Michy Batshuayi as back-up options.

The Frenchman scored a goal every 166 minutes last season, largely playing cup games and coming off the bench in the Premier League.

At £3m, the World Cup winner is remarkably cheap as a striker for a Champions League club.
You would be paying more for Raul Jimenez, Callum Wilson and Man City's second choice forward, Gabriel Jesus.

It's worth remembering that Giroud won the Golden Boot in the Europa League with 11 goals ahead of the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Luka Jovic.
