Cristiano Ronaldo shows he is losing the plot after throwing reporter’s microphone into a lake ahead of Hungary Euro 2016 tie
CRISTIANO RONALDO showed he has reached boiling point at Euro 2016 today by throwing a reporter's microphone into a LAKE.
The Portugal talisman has endured a woeful time at Euro 2016 in France, from being marked out of the game against Iceland, to his missed penalty against Austria.
Portugal coach Fernando Santos said after the painful goalless draw against Austria that Ronaldo has not been able to sleep, and he really appear to crack up today when he was only asked by a reporter near Portugal's team hotel in Lyon if he was fully prepared for the crucial Hungary clash tonight.
Following his spot kick, which agonisingly hit the post against the Austrians on Saturday night, Santos said: “Cristiano hasn’t been able to sleep.
“On Sunday I was one of the first up and he was already awake.
“He’s a winner and his experience will help him bounce back.”
His long-term rival Lionel Messi scored a sensational free-kick last night to become Argentina's record scorer, but the same kind of plaudits can not be given to Ronaldo for this tournament, far from it in fact.
Ronaldo's side face Hungary in a must-win game to progress at the Euros. If they finish second in Group F, they will play Roy Hodgson's England in the Last 16 on Monday.
