THE posh England team hotel has a dark history and is ‘haunted’ by the ghost of a French chef who died 400 years ago.
Francois Vatel was a celebrated cook who killed himself during a banquet for the French king in 1617 at the Chateau du Chantilly.
The Three Lions base during Euro 2016 – the L'Auberge du Jeu de Paume – is set in the grounds of the same Chateau.
Locals say the ghost French chef haunts the grounds of the town just north of Paris.
