Euro 2016: England boss Roy Hodgson insists there is no rift between skipper Wayne Rooney and Leicester striker Jamie Vardy

ROY HODGSON insists there is no rift between Wayne Rooney and Jamie Vardy.
The Three Lions skipper and other senior players had reportedly told the Leicester hero and his wife Rebekah to keep a low profile in the build up to the Iceland clash tomorrow.
But boss Hodgson was quick to shot down the idea that there are any problems in the England camp.
Hodgson said: "I'll answer for Wayne as well. I do not have a clue what you are referring to.
"There are absolutely no problems in footballing terms between Wayne Rooney and Jamie Vardy – in fact it's quite the opposite.
"They are very close friends on and off the field and I have no idea what you're referring too.
"I would advise Wayne not to answer. It's obviously one salacious story that someone has managed to spin and it is of no interest to us."
Hodgson also said he is happy with his attacking options – even though they are struggling in front of goal.
A win against Euro 2016 surprise package Iceland would set up a quarter-final clash with hosts France.
But Hodgson is not worried about the lack of goals scored by his strikers after their stalemate against Slovakia in the last group game.
Hodgson said: "I have been happy all the time with the strikers that I have gone with.
"In a football match, you never know exactly how a person is going to play but you know what you are selecting because you know the players, you work with them every day, you see them in training, and you try to choose the best possible players for that game.
"I am fortunate that, if it turns out that something is not functioning quite as well as we would like, we have a lot of possibilities on the bench to make changes.
"We knew we were going to have options up front and in midfield because we loaded up with front players and midfield players and I think that will be to our advantage if we are able to go forward in the tournament."
