Wales’ fairytale march to the Euro 2016 semi-finals has been hailed across the continent tonight.
It will be Wales’ first-ever appearance in major tournament semi-final.
Belgium’s ‘Golden Generation’ were heavily fancied to go through in Lille but the Welsh were tremendous as they set-up a meeting with Portugal in Lyon.
France’s leading sport newspaper L’Equipe went with: “Belgium succumb to the Welsh law”.
It described the result as a “sensation” and added that the game was “one of the most enjoyable of the tournament”.
Sport magazine, France Football, hailed “the Wales sensation” with a picture of the Welsh players celebrating their historic win.
While Italy’s Gazzetta dello Sport describe the Welsh “delirium” as Gareth Bale set up a mammoth semi-final against club team-mate, Cristiano Ronaldo.
And labelled goal scoring hero, Robson-Kanu, the “Prince of Wales”.
TuttoSport hailed Wales for “making history” after their “fairytale” victory over Belgium.
Over in Germany, SportBild hailed the Welsh “miracle” and added they’re not scared to dream.
Meanwhile, Spanish sport outlet MARCA claimed “Dragons do exist” as they, too, cited that Wales were making history.
AS immediately began previewing Bale’s mouthwatering semi-final showdown with Ronaldo.
Portugal, who lie in wait for Wales in the last-four, possibly driven by a bit of fear decided against hailing Wales’ achievement just so highly.
O Jogo matter-of-factly led with “Ronaldo to face Bale in the Euro 2016 semi-finals”.
While abola simply explained Wales would be Portugal’s semi-final opponents.
The mood was much more sombre among the newspapers in Belgium as calls for Marc Wilmots' head came in
HLNBE went with: "After this scandalous elimination, Wilmots cannot coach any more."
While EK 2016 asked: "Goodbye Red Devils, goodbye Wilmots?"
