Euro 2016: Kevin De Bruyne slams Belgium boss Marc Wilmots after shock exit to Wales

KEVIN DE BRUYNE laid the blame for Belgium’s crushing Euro 2016 exit on boss Marc Wilmots.

Wales’ 3-1 win over the world’s second-ranked side in Friday’s quarter-final has led to a bitter fallout.

Manchester City midfield ace De Bruyne, 25, said: “Why did we drop off? Why did we give them the chance to take charge?

“In the end it’s the coach who decided how we play and who takes the decisions.”
Boss Wilmots was also criticised by his keeper Thibaut Courtois.

The Chelsea No 1 added: “Wales got too much space in midfield and we came up against a superior force.

“We were punished mercilessly by guys with less quality.”

When pressed if the manager should go, Courtois said: “That is his decision. I have given my view in the dressing room.”
