Real Madrid superstar will be hoping to recreate events from 2003 when he, Ricardo Quaresma and Co. shocked French

CRISTIANO RONALDO will hoping to replicate his 18-year-old self and score against France at a major tournament.

Portugal play the hosts in the Euro 2016 final tonight.

And the Real Madrid frontman has previous when it comes to goals against the French — from his earliest days as a footballer.

He found the back of the net with a stunning turn Portugal shocked France in a Uefa Under-21s Championships play-off.

Playing alongside Ricardo Quaresma and Bruno Alves — who are in their current squad for France — and the likes of Raul Meireles, Tiago, Helder Postiga and Jose Bosingwa, Ronaldo opened the scoring with a superb goal on 29 minutes.

Djibril Cisse equalised for a French side which included Patrice Evra from their current squad and the likes of Philippe Mexes, Alou Diarra, Benoit Cheyrou, Florent Sinama-Pongolle, Charles Itandje and Anthony Le Tallec, but was sent off a minute before half time.

Alves netted a winner on 75 minutes as Portugal went through on penalties after drawing 3-3 on aggregate.
