TROY STORY

Tottenham left with just ONE striker after Troy Parrott is sent on loan to Millwall, following in Harry Kane’s footsteps

TOTTENHAM now only have Harry Kane as their one target man - after Troy Parrott completed a season-long loan deal at Millwall.

It means that Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho must step up his search for a new striker.

The North Londoners' chief Daniel Levy is close to tying up a £10million deal for Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson.

Spurs have been linked with Chelsea's Olivier Giroud in the past.

But Mourinho has made it clear that Parrott is not yet ready to play for his first team.

He follows Kane to the New Den.

Kane went on loan to South London in 2012.

Even when Kane was injured last term, Mourinho refused to play Parrott.

The Portuguese has made a big target man his main priority this summer.

He says the likes of Lucas Moura, Son Heung-min and Dele Alli are not able to hold the ball up well enough to play as a main target man.

Irishman Parrott, 18, had made just two substitute appearances for Spurs in the Premier League in two seasons.

Spurs coaches hope he can make an impact in the Championship, as Kane did during some of his loan spells.

He could then try and change Mourinho's opinion of him.
