Dwight Gayle: Aston Villa target Gayle chomps down on ‘half the insect population of Bangkok’ while on holiday with girlfriend Stefanie Lianne

DWIGHT GAYLE appears destined to move to Aston Villa this summer – but only after he returns from his insect-eating holiday in Thailand!

Despite having fewer first-team opportunities last season, Gayle was still Crystal Palace's top scorer in all competitions for the second season in a row, with seven goals.

While he contemplates his future, the 25-year-old has decided to have a break in the Land of Smiles, and his stunning girlfriend, Stefanie Lianne, posted a video on Instagram today of the player, beer in hand, chomping down on a cricket in Bangkok.

She wrote in the caption after trying the local delicacies: "Trying to work out whether I feel horrendous due to the amount of alcohol I drank or if it's down to the fact Dwight Gayle made me eat a f***ing cricket last night - credit to Gayley eating half the insect population of Bangkok though."

Gayle is reportedly closing in on the switch to relegated Aston Villa when he returns from holiday, as he has grown frustrated with his lack of playing time under Alan Pardew at Palace.

Last season he started only eight Premier league games for the Selhurst Park club.
