Andros Townsend joins Crystal Palace: £13m England winger agrees five-year deal at his 12th club

ANDROS TOWNSEND has joined Crystal Palace on a five-year deal.
The England winger, 24, agreed a £13million contract at his TWELFTH club just six months after signing for Newcastle.
Townsend joined the Magpies from Spurs for around £12m in January but has now committed his future to former Toon boss Alan Pardew at Selhurst Park.
It is thought that current Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez was keen to hold onto Townsend.
But the ex-Tottenham star was not looking to hang around and wanted top-flight football following Newcastle's relegation at the end of last season.
He said: "I'm extremely delighted. I had chats with the manager and chairman before I signed and I'm pleased to be a part of Crystal Palace's future.
"By the sounds of things it's going to be a great one and I can't wait to get started."
Palace chairman Steve Parish will recoup some of the cash splashed on Townsend through the sale of Dwight Gayle.
A £10m fee was agreed between the clubs yesterday as Gayle sought regular first-team football.
Parish added: "It's fantastic that we've managed to get a player of Andros' quality into the club.
"Andros is another exciting attacking talent that we have added to our ranks and I can't wait to see him in a red and blue shirt in the very near future."
