Jack Wilshere returns to Arsenal training early sporting a new crew-cut hairstyle as he looks for fitness
Midfielder back to build his strength after struggling for form in England's Euro 2016 campaign
JACK WILSHERE has returned early for pre-season training in a bid to be fully fit and ready for the start of the new campaign.
Wilshere has only had a fortnight off since England's humiliating Euro 2016 exit at the hands of Iceland.
But the 24-year-old decided he needed to join up with the Arsenal squad as he looks to finally prove his is over the injury problems that have blighted his career.
Sporting a new crew cut hairstyle, Wilshere took part in running drills aimed at building up his stamina levels before the new season kicks-off next month.
Gunners manager Arsene Wenger is desperate to have Wilshere back to full fitness and strong enough to withstand the demands of a full season.
His career has been littered with injury problems, particularly an ankle issue that sidelined him for almost two years.
Wilshere had finally looked ready to make a comeback last summer, only to suffer a broken leg in the Community Shield against Chelsea which ruled him out until April.
He was still named in Roy Hodgson's England squad for Euro 2016, but his lack of match sharpness clearly affected him as he only played a small part in the tournament.
That is why he was so keen to report back for training early, to make sure he gets the strength and conditioning work needed to provide a base level of fitness.
