Joe Allen to Stoke City: Potters confirm signing of midfielder from Liverpool for £13.5m
Allen, 26, had struggled for regular first-team football under Jurgen Klopp and had 12 months left on his Reds' contract
JOE ALLEN believes his stand-out displays for Wales at Euro 2016 sealed his £13million move to Stoke.
The midfielder was named in the team of the tournament as Chris Coleman’s side lost to winners Portugal in the semi-finals.
Stoke boss and fellow Welshman Mark Hughes moved quickly to bag Allen, 26 — who had become a bit-part player at Liverpool.

Allen , who signed a five-year contract, said: “I’m sure like every other Welsh person he (Mark) was very interested in how it went.
“Hopefully, some of the performances I put in out there might have been what sealed the move here.
“It was an incredible experience, one I will never forget. As soon as I knew there was an opportunity like this it was easy to move.”
Stoke have also completed the £5m signing of Egyptian wonderkid Ramadan Sobhi, 19, from Al-Ahly.
His old boss, Martin Jol, said: “I sent a message to Jose Mourinho asking him to keep an eye on Ramadan. He’s a brilliant player and could play at Man United.”
