ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC insists Wayne Rooney is his "perfect" strike partner and that together Manchester United will have "no problems, only success".

That mouth-watering duo could last for a few seasons at least, after Rooney's agent confirmed he wants to extend his contract beyond 2019.

Ibrahimovic is likely to make his Old Trafford bow tonight in Rooney's testimonial having scored a sensational scissor kick in his first United game.

Rooney also netted twice in the 5-2 win over Galatasary, and Ibra hinted that boss Jose Mourinho knows exactly how to get the best out of his "big players".

Ibrahimovic said: "I said many years ago the perfect partner for a striker is Wayne Rooney. He works not only for himself but for the striker and the whole team. I’m absolutely happy to be one of the guys beside him.

"I think every big player can work with other big players.

"That’s not a problem. We are 11 players not two players on the pitch. It’s up to the coach what he wants but, with him, I see no problems. Only success."

That came as Rooney's agent Paul Stretford confirmed his man wants to stay at Manchester for at least another three seasons.

Rooney is currently four goals short of becoming the club's all-time top scorer and earns around £300,000 a week.

Stretford told TalkSport: "From Wayne’s point of view, he was determined to stay at and agree a new contacts, and that’s evident by the fact that he’s still here going into his 13th year at the club.

“Wayne has gone public in stating that he intends to see out his current contract.

“Should Man United make it clear they want him to stay beyond [2019], I think we’ll be sitting down very quickly and ensuring that will happen."
