He was captain of Sweden for large parts of his international career and has experience leading the team.

A United insider said: "Some of the other lads, especially the young ones, are in awe of Zlatan.

"He brings a presence to the place and people look up to him after everything that he has achieved through his career.

"He has experience at the highest level and is seen as an obvious captain when the other lads aren't on the pitch."

We revealed last week how Ibrahimovic had a £1.5m fleet of supercars shipped over from France after moving out of his hotel.

He found a rented house for him and his family after weeks in the Manchester Radisson.

United are paying the £20,000-a-month bill as part of his lucrative £200,000-a-week contract.

He also had his bright red Ferrari Enzo and Porsche Spyder among over motors brought over from Paris.

Ibrahimovic joined United from PSG on a free transfer this summer.

He scored 113 goals in 122 appearances for the French giants over four seasons.
