Hideki Matsuyama’s mouth-watering Japanese themed Masters champions dinner menu including ribeye and sushi
HIDEKI MATSUYAMA has put Tiger Woods to shame by delivering a four-course feast fit for kings and Masters.
Japan's first ever Augusta winner offered up highest-grade Wagyu Beef Ribeye and Sushi - plus of course a few greens and slices - in the pre-tournament Champions Dinner traditionally organised by the title holder.
That contrasts with Woods' famous Slam-junk menu in 1998, headlined by cheeseburgers and chicken sandwiches.
So there's a thick sand wedge between Matsuyama's Japanese-themed cultural cuisine and the Californian's below-par burger-based bash of 24 years ago.
Comeback man Woods is hungry to go bap to the future 14 months after his horror leg injury - by winning his first Major since triumphing at Augusta in 2019.

But 30-year-old Matsuyama has had to shake off his own injury problems before he defends his crown, starting Thursday.
He pulled out of the Players Championship with a back injury and withdrew from last week's Valero Texas Open in the second round due to a neck problem.
So perhaps his menu-making machinations were a pleasant diversion.
The chomping champs will start with a mix of sushi and sashimi.

Next comes black cod laced with miso sauce, along with dashi broth - from water, dried kelp and bonito fish flakes.
The main course is wagyu beef ribeye steak, embroidered with mushrooms and vegetables, as well as sansho daikon ponzu - citrus juice with pepper and radish.
And finally, Matsuyama will serve up something he'll hope will soften up his starch enemies - a strawberry shortcake for dessert.
