Arabian Queen set new target

David Elsworth's filly finished third behind So Mi Dar on her last run and while the Sun Chariot is the plan she could also head to Woodbine later in the year

THE Kingdom Of Bahrain Sun Chariot Stakes on October 1 is a potential next port of call for Arabian Queen following her creditable effort at Yarmouth on Wednesday.

Best known for inflicting a shock defeat on Derby hero Golden Horn in last season's Juddmonte International at York, David Elsworth's filly had been off the track since a disappointing run in the Coronation Cup at Epsom in early June.

She made her return in Listed company in Norfolk and while no match for the impressive So Mi Dar, she was not beaten far into third place.

Elsworth said: "She ran a very good race. I think the filly that won is a very talented filly. We know that ours is.

"I'm embarrassed to say that I stumbled across that race. The conditions suited her well. She has struggled with issues but she was in good form.

"I hoped her freshness would outweigh her enthusiasm. She ran a good race and stuck at it.

"We've got her in the Sun Chariot and she will probably go there. If she comes back to her best form she will run well.

"We may go to Woodbine, while I could supplement her for the Fillies' and Mares' at Ascot on Champions Day, which she finished sixth in last year."
