Battle of the fillies
A small field of just six were declared but they included two star fillies in their own right; Queen Mary winner Lady Aurelia and the exciting Frankel filly Queen Kindly
UNBEATEN American filly Lady Aurelia is the star name in a six-strong field for the Connolly's Red Mills Cheveley Park Stakes at Newmarket on Saturday.
After providing trainer Wesley Ward with another Royal Ascot winner after a scintillating performance in the Queen Mary Stakes, the daughter of Scat Daddy returned home before journeying back to Europe to contest the Prix Morny at Deauville.
Tackling six furlongs for the first time, Lady Aurelia was less spectacular in France than in Berkshire, but connections have been in bullish mood ahead of her latest assignment on the Rowley Mile.
Heading the home challenge for the Group One contest is the Richard Fahey-trained Frankel filly Queen Kindly, winner of last month's Lowther Stakes at York.
Aidan O'Brien fires a twin assault with Brave Anna and Roly Poly.
Brave Anna won the Albany Stakes at the Royal meeting but has since been disappointing, while Roly Poly claimed the Duchess of Cambridge Stakes on the July Course before finding Queen Kindly too strong on the Knavesmire.
Michael O'Callaghan's Holy Cat also crosses the Irish Sea, with David Simcock's Pellucid completing the field.
