Haggas not done with Muffri’Ha yet
William Haggas' filly had been due to head to the paddocks following her Listed win at Newmarket but connections are now looking to get her qualified for Finals Day at Lingfield
RETIREMENT plans have been shelved for Muffri'Ha who bids for a third straight win when she runs in the 32Red EBF Stallions Fleur De Lys Fillies' Stakes at Lingfield.
Having looked exposed in Listed company all season, William Haggas dropped her into a handicap earlier this month and she ran out an easy winner.
Just seven days later she returned to Newmarket to claim a Listed race when Haggas intimated it was the perfect way to end her career.
However, Bruce Raymond, racing manager to owner Sheikh Juma Dalmook Al Maktoum, said: "She's staying in training now.
"William is thinking of trying to get her qualified for Finals Day so the ideal scenario would be that she achieves that here and she comes back in the spring.
"We were going to retire her but she's in such good form. She's suddenly taken her form to a new level so it seems a shame to retire her at her peak.
"The thinking is we will strike while the iron is hot."
Charlie Appleby likes to have a decent team assembled for the All-Weather Championships and Mise En Rose will be looking to book her ticket, having put together a string of good displays this season.
Appleby said: "Mise En Rose was drawn on the far side at Newmarket, when the first two home were on stands' side, and six furlongs may have been a bit short for her.
"Ideally, she is a seven-furlong filly but it is an easy mile around Lingfield.
"She will be dropped in, so being drawn in stall 12 will hopefully not be a major inconvenience.
"We have put the cheekpieces on again, which is more to help her concentrate in the final quarter of a mile.
"She has won on a synthetic surface in the past and, based on her last run, should be very competitive.
"We will have a similar approach to this season's All-Weather Championships as we did last year in that we will be aiming to get a team of horses qualified for Good Friday.
"We have Antiquarium in mind for the Marathon, Pretend is on the way back for the Sprint and I will try to find a juvenile or two for the Three-Year-Old category.
"If Mise En Rose doesn't qualify on Thursday, I will also have a look at getting her qualified in another race because I think seven furlongs around Lingfield on Finals Day will suit her well."
