LINGFIELD TIPS

TANGLEY had a quiet spin around Ffos Las before Christmas in a bumper but jumping should be much more her game. She comes from a family that has produced lots of winners over the sticks and she’s had success in the pointing field. Trainer Harry Fry is enjoying a purple patch and has another winning chance here.

DARWINS THEORY went close here last time and will relish these testing conditions. He was right in contention until the run-in and going down by just over two lengths was a good effort. This looks slightly easier than that contest and he’s still on a fair mark.

BURGESS DREAM bounced right back to his best to win here over hurdles last time and goes over fences now off just 1lb higher in the weights. He sees out every yard of this distance and relishes the ground. He could be thrown in if repeating that last effort over the bigger obstacles.

QUEEN ODESSA did well in bumpers last season, including when a close-up third around here. She then won well at Doncaster before being pitched in too deep for a Listed contest at Cheltenham. She has the scope for hurdling and comes from a decent family. With closest rival Tearsofclewbay more than a little inconsistent, she should go close.

MR MUDDLE looked in need of his comeback run at Fontwell last time, where he went well for a long way until tiring in the closing stages. After nine months off that was understandable and it was also his first run for Gary Moore. He should come on a bundle fitness wise and this shorter trip is in his favour too.

SEA THE SPRINGS has Richard Johnson in the saddle and that could make a difference in this lowly company. He was far from disgraced when fifth at Warwick last time on similar ground to this. He is capable of better than that and has dropped down the weights for good measure.
