EXETER TIPS

2.20
BEN ARTHUR powered to the line when winning over 2m4f at Ffos Las and should relish stepping up in distance here. He really improved for tackling that stiffer test of stamina on his handicap debut. He’s got just 6lb more to carry here, which shouldn’t be a problem.

CARNSPINDLE may need further than this to show her very best form, but she should be too strong for these rivals. There was a lot to like about her second at Lingfield last time where she handled the soft ground well. That was only her second spin over timber so there should be a lot more to come.
3.20
GUSTAV put in his best chasing effort so far when second at Leicester seven days ago. He was bang in contention until jumping the second-last so this slight drop in trip could help. He won’t mind the ground and is still learning the game so could show a lot more today.

Mullen's Best Bet

Exeter 2.20: Ben Arthur

QUINTO has had just a couple of spins over fences and has shown plenty of promise each time. He started with a second around here and followed up in the same position last time at Ffos Las. He looks as though this 3m trip will be fine and the handicapper looks to have given him a fair crack of the whip.

BACCALAUREATE is a good ride for an amateur and connections are making full use of the 7lb claimed by today’s pilot. She was on board here last time when this 11-year-old rolled back the years to score with plenty left in the tank. A 6lb penalty for that looks very fair and this trip suits best after he was tried over further for a long time.
4.50
WISTARI ROCKS went wrong during the race at Huntingdon last time as he was seeking a hat-trick of wins. He has been given a nice break since then and looks ready to resume his excellent run. This trip is ideal and, taking his rider’s claim into account, he’s a fair 6lb higher than when scoring in a similar conest in October. He could easily bounce back.
