STRATFORD TIPS
2.10
CHANDOS BELLE showed bits and piece of form on the level in her native France before moving across the Channel to go hurdling. She started with a solid enough third at Doncaster before improving markedly on that when second at Plumpton last time. A repeat of that effort should be enough to take this.
2.40
LUCKY JIM has been upped 3lb for a close-up second at Worcester last time and that should give him every chance of going one better here. That was over 2m4f but this drop in distance shouldn’t be a problem, especially with the ground being pretty testing.
3.15
MIDNIGHT MAESTRO won his bumper and got his hurdling career off to a winning start when scooting in at Warwick. He then found things a little too hot in fair company at Cheltenham before bouncing back to his best for a second place at Wincanton. That run was good enough to win a race like this and his liking for soft ground is a bonus.
Mullen's Best Bet
Stratford 3.15: Midnight Maestro
3.50
DR ROBIN didn’t enjoy being dropped in distance at Ffos Las latest but still ran well enough to finish second. He goes back to his best trip here and the soft ground will also help. He won well at Sedgefield the last time he had these conditions and is only 5lb higher here.
4.20
OLOFI was a game winner on his hunter chase debut at Leicester last time and can defy a 4lb penalty here. He was eased in the closing stages and could have won by a lot further. With trainer Tom George in such good form he looks capable of following up.
4.50
HATCHER made a pleasing start to his career when third in a Lingfield bumper on debut before Christmas. It’s a slight concern that he hasn’t been out since then but Dan Skelton’s horses are in good form so he should go well.
