CHTI BALKO could not have won any easier at Catterick last time and can progress from that debut victory. He enjoyed the soft ground at the testing track so this heavy going shouldn’t be a problem. He will stay further than this in time which will also be an asset in the conditions.

THE NIPPER has a liking for heavy ground and that should be a major asset here. She had just two rivals to beat at Newcastle last time but did it as she liked, building on an excellent win at Lingfield in January. This slightly longer distance should help and you would expect more improvement after just three hurdles outings.

BUTTERCUP is a real mudlark so should be delighted by these conditions. She had 18 lengths in hand when winning at Warwick last time where many of her rivals didn’t handle the bottomless ground.

That came after a convincing win at Towcester where her stamina came right into play. It should be the same story here.

ROBIN OF LOCKSLEY ran a cracker on his debut for Caroline Bailey at Warwick last time out. He had a distance in hand crossing the line so a 7lb penalty should not be enough to put the brakes on. The ground was heavy last time so this surface should be ideal too.

SAROQUE looks hard to beat if he can repeat the form that saw him finish second at Plumpton last time out.

JOHANOS did not have to come out of first gear to win by half the track at Carlisle last time out. He was clear from a long way out and gave the impression that there was a lot more to come. He relishes heavy going so this track will be right up his street.
