Mick Channon's filly defeated hot favourite Somehow in the Group 3 Park Express Stakes on Sunday and now looks a cracking broodmare prospect

CZABO could be put in foal after her Group 3 win at Naas on Sunday.

Fourth in last season's Irish 1,000 Guineas before landing a Listed prize at Deauville, Mick Channon's filly was then well beaten at Royal Ascot and missed the rest of the campaign through injury.

The four-year-old disappointed on her seasonal reappearance but bounced back to win the Park Express Stakes when she narrowly denied hot favourite Somehow.

Channon said: "She's always been a good filly, she just had a bit of a problem in the middle of last season.

"We ran her in France first time out this year and she was just a little bit fresh. When the ground is soft like it was that day, you ruin your chance when you're as keen as she was.

"We were delighted with her and we'll see what else there is about for her.

"They (owners) might put her in foal, but if the ground stays soft, we might keep her going.

"We'll just have to wait and see what the weather does.

"She's done her job, really. She's won a Listed race and now she's won a Group Three, so she's a cracking broodmare prospect."
