Matt Chapman’s racing tips for ITV’s racing from York on Wednesday, May 17

Get all the info to bash the bookies as ITV's Matt Chapman runs you through a busy Wednesday

Matt Chapman

IT'S always nice when the ITV cameras bring us midweek racing and there are few better meetings to enjoy on that score than the Dante fixture at York.

It all gets under way Wednesday, so let's see if we can dig out a few winners on a cracking card on ITV4.

The 2.20pm is a handicap over an extended 1m2f, and I'm all over REPERCUSSION each-way for the in-form Charlie Fellowes.

This four-year-old ran a cracking race on his comeback at Newmarket, is well drawn and comes from a stable in awesome form.

Next is a handicap over 6f, and it's tricky for sure.

Maybe NINJAGO is worth an each-way punt for Paul Midgley and Oisin Murphy.

The selection was behind big rival Wentworth Falls last time, but is now better off at the weights and could easily reverse the form.

It's the Group 2 Duke of York sprint over 6f at 3.30pm, and it's a corker.

It will  be hard for class act The Tin Man to win under a penalty first time, so I'm backing SUEDOIS each-way for David O'Meara.

He's knocked at the door in lots of these big sprints and I'm sure there is a big prize in him.

Matt Chapman's TV Tips

  • 2.20 York - Repurcussion
  • 2.55 York - Ninjago
  • 3.30 York - Suedois
  • 4.05 York - Shutter Speed

Finally it's the Group 3 Oaks Trial, the Musidora, at 4.05pm.

I spoke to Frankie Dettori at Windsor Monday night and he fully expects SHUTTER SPEED to win. So do I Frankie!

So best of luck everyone. Hopefully a Yeeehaaa or two in there. You Betcha!
