Racing Tips – Top Tipster Steve Mullen’s best racing selections for Friday, May 19
Steve Mullen guides you through Friday's racing from York, Newmarket, Newbury, Aintree, Newcastle and Hamilton
YORK
2.20
NEOLA caught the eye when winning at Nottingham last time and looks a big price despite this step up in class. S
he didn’t get the run of the race there and had to switch before coming home with a real rattle. High Desire was also very impressive last time when winning at the same track but the ground was fast then and it’s a lot softer today.

ON HER TOES was a winner on soft ground at Pontefract last season and went on to win in Listed company at Sandown.
She finished with a solid third in the Sweet Solera Stakes at Newmarket where she looked more than capable of seeing out this mile trip.
3.30
DARTMOUTH is one of the few in the field who will welcome all the rain we’ve been having.
It was well on the soft side of good when he won the Hardwicke Stakes at Royal Ascot last term.
That turned out to be the high point of the season despite running well in a couple of Group 1 contests. He has no problem with this trip and has gone well fresh before.
4.05
GIBBS HILL loves to get his toe in as he showed when winning a solid handicap at Sandown last summer.
That was over 1m2f but he had no problem seeing out this longer trip when winning his comeback race at Wolverhampton last month. This is a better race than that but he has few miles on the clock and is capable of improvement.
4.35
DARK INTENTION is a consistent performer at this level and she has been going close off this sort of handicap mark.
She has been running over a mile but this drop back in distance won’t be a problem – particularly in fairly testing conditions.
5.05
JUSTANOTHERBOTTLE came back from a long break to win going away at Nottingham last time and looks to have done really well from two to three.
He has plenty of zip for this distance and has gone well in soft before. Ryan Moore is an interesting booking for the yard and he should go well.
5.40
ALQAMAR had three fairly quiet outings late on last season and showed lots of promise when second at Redcar in October.
He handled some give in the ground that day and starts off handicapping off a lowly mark for a horse with such classy breeding. The first-time cheekpieces should help too.
