Investec Derby favourite Churchill set to skip Epsom and run in the Tattersalls Irish 2,000 Guineas instead

O'Brien revealed there was a "good chance" Churchill will line up at the Curragh meaning the current Derby favourite will not be taking his place at Epsom next month

AIDAN O'BRIEN says there is a "good chance" Churchill will miss the Derby and instead run in the Tattersalls Irish 2,000 Guineas.

This year's QIPCO 2,000 Guineas winner is favourite for the Derby, although he is unlikely to take his place with O'Brien having plenty of strength in depth to replace him at Epsom.

The Ballydoyle handler told the Irish Independent: "There is a good chance Churchill will run in the Tattersalls Irish 2,000 Guineas, though nothing is set in stone."
