Aidan O’Brien’s Caravaggio set to make his reappearance in the Lacken Stakes at Naas on Sunday

The unbeaten colt was a star last year and was last seen winning the Group 1 Phoenix Stakes back in August, he had been touted to be a Guineas horse but missed the race

THE unbeaten Caravaggio makes his eagerly-awaited reappearance in the EMS Copiers Lacken Stakes at Naas on Sunday.

Aidan O'Brien's three-year-old stars in a field of nine declared for the Group 3 over six furlongs.

Caravaggio has not been seen since winning the Group 1 Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh in August.

He holds a host of big-race entries, ranging from the Irish 2,000 Guineas to the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot, for which he is currently ante-post favourite at around 4-1.

O'Brien is also represented by Pedestal, who has an even longer absence to overcome.

His last race came at Royal Ascot where he was third in the Windsor Castle Stakes.

Leading the opposition is Jessica Harrington's Khukri, who got his 2017 campaign off to a flying start with victory in the Listed Power Stakes at Navan four weeks ago.

Harrington also saddles Tinder, with the line-up completed by Mister Trader, Mr Scarlet, Psychedelic Funk, Gorane and Virtudes.
