Royal Ascot 2017 – Aidan O’Brien’s Clemmie could head to Royal Ascot after debut third at the Curragh
Clemmie attracted a lot of attention before the race, she is a full-sister to dual 2,000 Guineas hero Churchill, and she showed she could have a big future with a promising debut
AIDAN O'BRIEN is considering a trip to Royal Ascot for Clemmie following her encouraging racecourse debut at the Curragh on Saturday.
The daughter of Galileo attracted plenty of attention prior to her introduction as she is a full-sister to this year's dual 2,000 Guineas hero Churchill.
Clemmie came home strongly to finish a close third and O'Brien expects her to improve for the experience.
Churchill progressed from his debut effort to win the Chesham Stakes at the Royal meeting last season.
O'Brien said: "Ryan (Moore) was very happy with Clemmie. She was out the back early and I thought she was going to run badly looking at her early, but she finished very well.
"Churchill ran a race a little bit like that when he ran there on his debut."

Clemmie was one of two Ballydoyle bluebloods in the field, with Snowflakes - a full-sister to dual 1,000 Guineas heroine Winter - finishing down the field.
"Donnacha (O'Brien) was very happy with his filly as well. It just closed up around him and he felt he went to the line on the bridle. She's obviously very smart as well," O'Brien added.
"Ascot probably will be in the equation (for both) and that was the reason for getting them out.
"We could look at the Chesham and the Albany, even though they will come on from it.
"If they go to Ascot and are green, so be it, it will be good experience for them and we'll definitely look at it."
