SAFRANI was an expensive purchase from the breeze-up sales and has been found a fairly soft opening here by trainer David O’Meara. This 6f trip should suit and he’ll want a bit more in time. That stamina could be an asset in the testing ground. Poignant looks best of those with a run and he should also be happier over this distance than the minimum he’s been tackling.

PARADISE COVE was doing all her best work at the finish over a mile at Windsor last time out. That makes this step up in distance a wise move and the soft ground shouldn’t be a problem either. Glorvina didn’t enjoy herself over this distance at Lingfield last time but is still the best of the others.

REINAS QUEEN can be hit and miss but she has put in her best form over this distance with some cut in the ground. She is just 2lb higher than when going down in a tight finish at Leopardstown three runs ago and her capable pilot takes a valuable 3lb off.

LE CHAT D’OR is worth a try in what looks a wide open race. He has a few ticks in his box having won around here before and being best with some give in the ground. He was entitled to need his comeback at Ripon after a long break where his usual blinkers were also left off. They are back on today and that, along with a drop down the weights, gives him a chance.
4.00 - Mullen's star bet
DARK CRYSTAL is effectively off the same mark as when winning at Hamilton last week because her rider is claiming 5lb. She won that pretty much as she liked and won over course and distance in soft conditions last year. She could easily follow up in a tricky race.

MY NAME IS RIO came back to something close to his best form when a solid second at Doncaster last time out. He goes off the same mark here and will relish this soft ground. A repeat of that last run could well be good enough.

LADY NATASHA can get the better of Tonto’s Spirit over a trip that looks ideal. She travelled well when second over 1m6f at Doncaster last time but couldn’t catch a decent winner. That was her first run since October so she should come on for it fitness-wise.
