Royal Ascot 2017 – Clive Cox’s Heartache wins the Queen Mary Stakes on day two of Royal Ascot
Happy Like A Fool went off the red-hot favourite, but it was Cox's filly who showed blistering speed to run out a smart winner of the second race on day two
HEARTACHE got the better of American hotpot Happy Like A Fool in the Queen Mary Stakes.
All the money had come for Wesley Ward's runner Happy Like A Fool but the bookies were left thrilled as Clive Cox's Heartache showed an impressive turn of foot.
She readily put the race to bed to give jockey Adam Kirby his first winner since June 3.
Out Of The Flames came home well in third.
Kirby said: "She's good isn't she? She has loads of class - when she won first time out I knew she had loads of class but she's come on again from there.
"I'm delighted for Clive as he's a great trainer and doesn't get enough credit.
