Royal Ascot 2017 – Idaho wins the Hardwicke Stakes for Aidan O’Brien
Idaho stayed on best to hold off the late challenge of Barsanti after The Queen's Dartmouth failed to fire and faded into fourth up the home straight
AIDAN O'BREIN's Idaho followed in the footsteps of brother Highland Reel and bagged a Royal Ascot win.
Earlier in the week brother Highland Reel won the Prince Of Wales's Stakes and on Saturday, Idaho struck in the Hardwicke Stakes as he stayed on best to hold off the challenge of Barsanti.
The Queen's Dartmouth hit the front up the straight but faded to fourth.
Chemical Charge came home third.
O'Brien said: "We're delighted. He's a full-brother to Highland Reel and we always loved him.
"It was his first run of the year in the Coronation Cup. He only arrived at the track an hour before and he was very upset.
