Ascot Gold Cup rematch possible at Glorious Goodwood as Order Of St George could seek revenge against Big Orange in Cup

Ballydoyle stayer Order Of St George is set to line up in the Goodwood Cup where he will clash again with Michael Bell's Group 1 hero Big Orange

ANOTHER big clash between Gold Cup heroes could be the Order of the day at Glorious Goodwood.

The 2016 Gold Cup winner Order Of St George, just touched off by Big Orange in a thrilling finish to this year's race, is set for a rematch in the Goodwood Cup on August 1.

Aidan O'Brien's Order Of St George was hot favourite to record back-to-back wins in Thursday's big race. He was just edged out by Michael Bell's runner.

Big Orange has won the last two Goodwood Cups and immediately after his Ascot win, Bell announced he would bid for a third.

But it won't be easy against O'Brien's star stayer, with a point to prove.

O'Brien said: "Order Of St George seems fine and we'll see how he is in the next week to 10 days.

"He does have the option of going to Goodwood, but we will just see how he is.

"It was a tough finish in the Gold Cup, but they are all tough finishes at Ascot."
