Roger Varian’s Defoe has Glasgow Stakes option at Hamilton racecourse
Defoe backed up his London Gold Cup win with victory in a competitive handicap at York last weekend and Varian is considering the Glasgow Stakes for him next

ROGER VARIAN is set to send recent York winner Defoe on a trip to Scotland.
Varian's three-year-old won the London Gold Cup at Newbury on his seasonal reappearance before a brilliant win at York last weekend in a competitive handicap under a hefty weight.
Varian said: "I love this horse. He is progressing well and has got a lovely attitude. He was good at York carrying a lot of weight to victory," said Varian.
"He might go for the Glasgow Stakes at Hamilton now."
Varian is also keen to give Realtra a second crack at Group 1 glory in the Prix Rothschild at Deauville later this month.
Realtra was last seen winning the Group 3 Brownstown Stakes at Fairyhouse on Wednesday and she is set to step back up in grade.

Varian added: "I was really pleased to see Realtra bounce back to form in Ireland. She is very good on her day.
"She has now won two Group 3 races and two Listed races. She has a powerful CV.
"I would love to get a bit of Group 1 black type on her CV so we might have a crack at the Rothschild now."
