James Fanshawe’s Higher Power to be stepped up in grade after Northumberland Plate win
Trainer James Fanshawe is considering either the Lonsdale Cup at York or the Prix Kergorlay at Deauville after Fanshawe all but ruled out a crack at the Goodwood Cup
TRAINER James Fanshawe is considering stepping Northumberland Plate hero Higher Power up in grade.
The five-year-old holds an entry in next month's Qatar Goodwood Cup, but he is likely to skip that and instead head for either the Lonsdale Cup at York or the Prix Kergorlay at Deauville.
Fanshawe said: "Higher Power has taken his last race well, but we will wait for softer ground with him now.
"He is in the Goodwood Cup, but I imagine he will go for something like the Lonsdale or the Prix Kergorlay in France."
A trip to York for a tilt at the Betfred Ebor could be on the cards for Lord George on the back of his impressive run in fourth behind Higher Power at Gosforth Park.
