Marsha the star name as 14 horses are set to go to post for the Group 2 Sapphire Stakes at the Curragh on Saturday

Marsha is in contention for the Group 2 Sapphire Stakes along with the likes of Epsom Dash winner Caspian Prince and Aidan O'Brien's Washington DC

MARSHA is the star attraction as 14 remain in contention for the Group 2 Sapphire Stakes at the Curragh on Saturday.

Sir Mark Prescott's filly, made a successful reappearance in the Palace House Stakes, before finishing third in the King's Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Other British entries are Tony Coyle's Epsom Dash winner Caspian Prince, Charlie Hills' Cotai Glory, Paul Midgley's Final Venture and Fashion Queen from David O'Meara's yard.

Among the home team are Aidan O'Brien's Washington DC, Eddie Lynam's Moviesta and Hit The Bid, who was supplemented by his trainer Darren Bunyan.

Jessica Harrington could give Brother Bear the chance to get back on the winning path in the Jebel Ali Silver Jubilee Anglesey Stakes on the same card.

He was last seen finishing fourth in the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Aidan O'Brien has four of the 16 entries in Actress, Gustav Klint, Murillo and Seahenge.

Gordon Lord Byron, winner of the Minstrel Stakes for the last two years, could go for the hat-trick in the seven-furlong feature at the Curragh on Sunday.

Tom Hogan's nine-year-old has already chalked up a Group 2 success at the Curragh in 2017 in the Greenlands Stakes.

UK-based trainers are looking at this race with the Hills-trained Dutch Connection, O'Meara's Firmament and So Beloved, Charlie Appleby's Jungle Cat, Ed Walker's Stormy Antarctic, Roger Varian's Realtra and the William Haggas-trained Mubtasim all among the 19 possibles.

O'Brien's Spirit Of Valor has been supplemented, with his trainer also represented by Cougar Mountain and Peace Envoy.

O'Brien has six in the Group 2 Kilboy Estates Stakes - Alluringly, Asking, Elizabeth Browning, Music Box, Pocketetfullofdreams and Rain Goddess, but several have alternative engagements.

Possible challengers from across the Irish Sea, in a 16-strong entry, are Mick Channon's Opal Tiara, Archie Watson's Absolute Blast, Sir Michael Stoute's Intimation, Luca Cumani's Rosental and Wilamina from Martyn Meade's stable.
