Juddmonte International – Saeed bin Suroor’s Benbatl a possibility for York
Bin Suroor is considering York as an option after the three-year-old has come out of Ascot in good order and looks ready to step back up in grade for his next start
ROYAL Ascot hero Benbatl could step back up into Group 1 company for the Juddmonte International at York next month.
After staying on strongly to take fifth place behind Wings Of Eagles in the Investec Derby, the Godolphin-owned colt won the Group 3 Hampton Court Stakes at Ascot.
Trainer Saeed bin Suroor is considering letting Benbatl make his second appearance at the Knavesmire, where he was also second to Permian in the Dante Stakes.
"He's doing good. We gave him an easy time after the race," bin Suroor told At The Races.
"He's in the Juddmonte at York. A mile and a quarter at this time is best for him.
