Karl Burke’s Quiet Reflection could miss the 32Red Sprint Cup at Haydock racecourse in September
Karl Burke's filly has managed just the one start this season where she finished down the field in the Temple Stakes before suffering further setbacks
QUIET REFLECTION may not be back in time to defend her crown in the 32Red Sprint Cup at Haydock in September.
Karl Burke's filly won the Group 1 as well as the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot last season, but hasn't hit form this year, with Burke admitting his stable star was not sparkling at home.
She finished down the field on her eventual reappearance in Haydock's Temple Stakes at May and was ruled out of Royal Ascot after suffering a setback and has not yet returned to full work.
Burke said: "Everything is going well, she's in light work and we're hoping to step her up in stronger work from the end of the month and into August.
"She is in the Sprint Cup, but that's on September 9 and things are going to have to go exceptionally well between now and then for her to make it.

"It's not impossible, but I think the more likely scenario is we'll aim for Champions Day (Qipco British Champions Sprint) in October and give her a prep run somewhere beforehand.
"It's been a frustrating year so far. She's just had a few niggles, but we were happy with her run in the Temple and how she came out of it and unfortunately she then picked up a little problem that meant we had to miss Royal Ascot."
The Leyburn-based trainer revealed Quiet Reflection is likely to be sold once the season comes to an end.
"She has a date in the sales in November and I would think that's where she'll end up," Burke added.
