Racing Tips – Top Tipster Steve Mullen’s best racing selections for Tuesday, August 15
Steve Mullen guides you through Tuesday's racing from Thirsk, Ffos Las, Nottingham and Chelmsford
THIRSK
2.00
WAHOO should be suited by this step up in distance after finishing off pretty well at Pontefract over 6f last time.
He didn’t get the run of the race there either and was away from the pace.
He needs to improve but has an experience edge on today’s rivals.
2.30
BROCKEY RISE is drawn a bit higher than ideal but will relish this drop in distance after getting stuck in the mud over further at Ffos Las last time out.
He was beaten a neck the last time he tackled this trip, in similar ground at Lingfield, and wouldn’t have to improve much to win.
3.00
NATHALIE looks hard to beat after going close over 1m3f at Lingfield last time out.
That was on ground similar to today’s and she finished strongly, so this extra furlong should suit too.

4.00 Thirsk - Gaelic Wizard: ' Won well at Redcar 13 days ago and is equally at home over this course and distance'
3.30
WHIPPHOUND is not the most reliable but went close at Catterick latest and wouldn’t have to show much more to win.
He’s been dropped another 1lb by the handicapper despite that solid effort and these conditions should suit.
4.00 - Mullen's star bet
GAELIC WIZARD won well at Redcar 13 days ago and is equally at home over this course and distance.
The handicapper has given him every chance of following up with a 4lb rise and this isn’t any tougher than the race he won.
4.30
MAMA AFRICA is still waiting to get off the mark but showed good spirit when second at Thirsk last time, beaten just a neck.
There was a long way back to the third horse so the form looks solid enough. This trip and ground suit so she should go well again.
5.00
BROUGHTONS ADMIRAL was unlucky not to finish closer than third at Yarmouth last time where he was blocked when coming with his challenge.
He did well to keep going and it’s interesting to see the first-time visor here.
He was already knocking at the door so any improvement should see him win.

TANAWAR is only 1lb higher than when winning over course and distance back in June. He hasn’t run too badly since when and was a fair enough sixth at Ayr last time.
We know these conditions are ideal and he should be on the premises.
