Owen Burrows’ Talaayeb set to drop back in trip for next Friday’s City Of York Stakes

TALAAYEB could drop back in trip for the Sky Bet City Of York Stakes at York next Friday.

Owen Burrows' filly missed a trip to Glorious Goodwood due to the soft ground but will now be aimed at the seven-furlong Group 3 contest next week.

Talaayeb was disappointing at Newbury on her last start.

Burrows' said: " We've had a nightmare with her. I wanted to run her in the Oak Tree at Goodwood, but the ground was too soft.

"The plan was then to run in the Dick Hern at Haydock, but the ground was too soft again.

"The plan, touch wood, providing the ground is suitable, is to go to York and run her in the City Of York Stakes.

"It has been frustrating, but there is not a lot we can do. We will enter at York and hope the ground is suitable."

The ground at York is currently reported to be good, good to firm in places.
