CONEYGREE was retired after being pulled up at Ascot on Saturday.

The former Cheltenham Gold Cup winner has failed to regain his best form and connections took the decision to retire their stable star.

Who is Coneygree?

Coneygree is a 12-year-old racehorse who hit the headlines when storming to victory in the 2015 Cheltenham Gold Cup.

In doing so, Coneygree became the first novice chaser to win the Gold Cup in more than 40 years.

Who trained Coneygree?

Mark Bradstock and his wife Sara trained Coneygree. Their stables are based in Wantage.

Sara has been heavily involved in the training of Coneygree and helping him get back to full fitness after his numerous setbacks.
